Taste the WorldTaste the World is to represent the cultures of Carmenita’s students. It’s where students can try new, different foods from different cultures. It’s to show variety and how different cultures cook. Taste the World is to educate students as well as letting them explore and experiment with different foods.

Taste the World involved staff and parents to volunteer and help sell food. Different parent volunteers and restaurants helped sell foods for different food stands. Represented cultures were South Korea, India, Philippines, Vietnam, Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand, Caribbean, and American. Students got to use tickets to purchase foods from the ASB foods. The most popular stand among the students was South Korea because they had a cup ramen station.

Some restaurants that came were Wetzel’s Pretzels, It’s BoBa Time, Kona Ice, Pista House, Casa Rosittas, and Taste of the Caribbean L.A.. They provided food with purchases of cash and cards. Students loved all the food provided and had a great time.

Students loved the first food festival of Carmenita because the food was good and they had a great, fun time. “Our first food festival, Taste the World, went amazing. It was a lot of planning, but it was fun with the different kinds of food. It’s meant to celebrate the different cultural foods out there and it honestly went great.” -Leah Ju. “I loved working at Taste the World because it was fun to sell stuff for ASB.” - Kayla Acuna.
