This year, our 7th grade students will learn to maintain our Carmenita Garden as part of their science classes. Ms. Neally and Mr. Watts are working with our students to teach them the steps to plant, maintain, and document the process of various plants. These include a variety of vegetable plants that the students will eventually be able to harvest later on this year.

Our students were working in our garden during class time and lunch preparing our garden for this school year. Students had hand towels, packets of seeds, and watering cans, which means they are ready to grow. Dirt was on their hands and smiles were on their faces, as Carmenita was ready to break ground with this garden. Each student carefully planted their seeds and made sure they had enough water. Everyone was excited to see what their hard work will grow into!

This garden is more than just a place to grow plants. It’s a chance for students to work together, learn about nature, and watch their plants grow throughout the year. With every seed planted, the Carmenita garden is one step closer to blooming. Special thanks to Mrs. Neally and Mr. Watts for making this amazing opportunity happen!
