Carmenita’s Club Rush

By: Aniston Suarez

Carmenita Cougars had a blast at Carmenita’s Club Rush. Students visited various tables with club representatives to sign up or learn about what each club had to offer. The clubs that displayed at Club Rush included: Chess Club, Christian Club, Korean Club, Biology Club, The Pride Club, E-Sports Club, Club Hiraya, Builders Club, Gem & Jam Club, Trading Card Club, The Book Club, Percy Jackson Club, Cougar Fit Club, Authors and Artists Anonymous, and the Geo Guesser Club.

Student representative Ethan is ready to recruit for the Carmenita Trading Card Club

Club Rush was created as a way for Carmenita Cougars to connect with peers who have similar interests and hobbies. It is a great way for students to meet new friends and find classmates they have a connection with. In Middle School it can be a challenge to feel like you fit in or belong, however, Club Rush helps many overcome this hurdle. All club creators needed was a teacher representative to agree to monitor and support their idea, then they were on their merry way!

Some of the amazing clubs that were created by our very own Carmenita Cougars were:

• Thomas Chen/Chess Club

• Joshua Yang/Christian Club

• Ian Lee/Korean Club

• Jiyah Shah/Biology Club

• Amelia Rae Young/Pride Club

• Jayden Cheung/E-Sports Club

• Therese Francis Domingo/ Club Hiraya

• Zoey Puder/Builders Club

• Ethan Kieth/Trading Card Club

• Mishika Khara/The Book Club,

• Penelope Morales/Authors and Artist Anonymous,

• Penelope Morales/ Percy Jackson Club

• Aarav Patel/Cougar Fit Club

• Saathwik Nagalia/ Geo Guesser Club

• Natalie Chang and Kassandra Ly/ Gem and Jam Club.

Thank you to all these amazing students who created these wonderful clubs and opportunities!

Students claimed that this year's Club Rush was one of the best! Almost all the clubs filled up to capacity. Drew Yamashiroya says, “ I really enjoyed this year's Club Rush. I joined Christian Club and I'm very excited to honor God with my fellow Carmenita Cougars.” Therese Francis Domingo says, “Being the president of Club Hiraya, I got to meet some of my fellow new members!”

Club Rush was a huge hit this year and meetings with all the clubs already started or will start soon!
